1,2,3...click!

Finally, we bought our dream camera. It was on our wish list for years! I really hope it comes to use properly... as we wished it to be... you know, for serious reasons, such as a medium for creativity and experiments, or maybe just better pics for my blog :) tee hee. speaking of cameras, I came across this via rikshaw design and it's hysterical. First I will knock on wood that anything like this to happens to me and Nick (our camera's name). Tok tok!

This guy is real funny! You see, he actually left these pics in his camera...hahaha! Click here to see the full version (yes, it goes on). A real good laugh for the mid week, no?

tin display

What a lovely collection of vintage tins owned by Corbin Lee Gurkin via design*sponge. Plus, it goes just perfect with the old cupboard, don't you think? Now, this makes me regret why I didn't start collecting those Quality Street chocolate and toffee tins way back in London. Maybe a hunt at a thrift store somewhere will heal this kind of regret?

old skool tin dining

Being the classic (or you may say old skool) me, these finds in Jogja last month were an excitement. These tin dinnerware are repros of the vintage tin plates that were popular in the year 1940 - 1970. You would most probably find a set of these plates in any home in Indonesia then. I didn't want to take my moms, so I thought I would go hunting to get my own set. I found mine at Toko Progo and there are soooo many varieties to chose from - the prints, size and functions. I took the cups picturing to drink tea out of, the bowl for mixing, the side plate to put on a table maybe, and the small bowls (that I assumed are supposed to be for washing hands in) for mixing icing. My mom gave me the-rolling-eye look for buying these, but she did give me a tip: don't drop them, unless you want a horrible black dent and chipped paint coming off.

something new and aqua blue...

... would be this little table I bought at a garage sale last Tuesday. Amongst the majority of brown colored furniture there, I spotted this cutie sitting in the corner. The price was superb so it had to come home with me right then. I'm finding many things this color lately and now I have something in the cyan family color from what I blogged about here. Don't you think it's nice? And better yet, the black scratches (deliberately there or not, I don't know) plus the knob handle add more character to the piece. Now, I don't know much about furniture, but I'm loving him a lot!

happy birthday, mom

I admit, you are the most super of them all. Wish you all the love in the world. Hugs and kisses.

The photo in the frame was taken by my father when me and my mom fell asleep together on the couch. I wish I will get one of a kind pic taken by the mister one day ;)

chicken wrap

Believe it or not, this is one of Angelina Jolie's favorite meal. Meal she says? I'd call it a snack! So the story goes back in the days when we were working on a CosmoGIRL! issue, the content was all about celebrities. And that included the food pages. So, there I was researching what the celebs find tasty and see if I can fix something 'real' and something the readers can actually enjoy eating. I found many recipes but either were they too healthy a.k.a diet-tastless-food, they were too hard to make. Hee hee. My choice then fell to Jolie's. Afterall, it's chicken. Everybody loves chicken, and she was (and still is) hype then. As it's so easy to make, I wonder if  Angie actually cooked it herself too or did the cook have it done for here?

How to make:
Marinate the boneless chicken breasts with black pepper & salt, then bake till chicken has turned light brown. Turn the kebab bread wrap in a heated pan with a few drops of oil. Cut the lettuce, chop the cucumbers, and grate the carrots. Put all together, then have a chunk. You might just feel like Angie, you know! :P
